This zoo is awesome! It was always a place I loved to go as a kid! I actually really like experiencing different zoo's whenever we travel. It's fun to see different animals, based on the environment of the local area the zoo is.
It was a hot day in Fresno, about 100 plus humidity, but it didn't feel too bad to us, and as luck would have it..that kept the crowds away! I packed us a lunch (leftover Me-N-Eds pizza), lots of water, fresh picked peaches and we kept cool with multiple ICEE's! The zoo was empty. Not only did we explore every area, we caught a bird show and I even took the girls through the reptile house.
