4 weeks down!

Hayden has four weeks down into this school year. I'm really pleased with how she's progressing. She loves her school, her teacher and seeing her teachers from last year. This year her class is small. She has 8 kids in there, which is just perfect, and four of them are her friends from last school year. Her teacher is Ms.Terri and it's her first time teaching pre-K, as she's been the kindergarten teacher at the academy in the past. I'm really glad that she's Hayden's teacher. Hayden is coming home each day with school work worthy of kindergarten and it may take her a couple of days to retain, but she always does, a couple days later, tell us what she's learned at school! There's that darn auditory processing issue...but even though it's taking awhile to sink in, I'm so pleased that it actually is!

The September syllabus was sent home on last Tuesday and I'm so thrilled with it. She goes 5 days a week, which is a great routine for her. We all know how routine is crucial for this little sweetie! In this month of September, she will be learning:
Literacy
Aa - Adam ate an apple (Adam and Eve)
Bb - Noah built a boat (Noah's Ark)
Cc - Count the kids with me (Abraham and Sarah: Birth of Isaac)
Dd - Esau ate the dinner (Jacob and Esau)
Math
triangle, two and black
Science/Social Studies/Health
All About Me
Apples
Emotions (feelings)
Family and Friends
Safety
Religion
Prayers: Sign of the Cross and Our Father
and she will be beginning Atrium, this week. Atrium was her absolute favorite day of school last year.
We're really proud of how hard she's working. She gets frustrated and her teacher can see her lack of confidence, due to her perfectionism in certain aspects. But, as time progresses and we find the help that she needs, she should be able to overcome those things. Or at the very least, learn how to manage it!
What an amazing little girl she is! She's loving school and we take such pride in seeing her hunger to learn!
On a side note, tomorrow, she has another appointment with her specialist and a new series of evaluations with a new children's psych. We weren't thrilled with the old psych., so we've sought out a new one.

Your girls will one day appreciate how proactive you are with their health, therapies, etc. I especially admire how assertive you are with the people with all the fancy initials behind their names. That's not an easy task!

This school has been so great for Hayden. I know how much she loves it!! I can't tell you how much I love this little girl!! Believe it or not, I love her more than she loves the Jonas Brothers!! HAHA!!!!
